This Tea is Magical!

This Tea is Magical!

Sometimes, when life gives you lemons, you actually make a magical mint tea! This week, we're highlighting one of our favorite new Cold Brew Iced Teas - Blue Ridge Mountain Mint. This summer favorite will do wonders for keeping you cool during the hot days of summer and is a must try for the adventurous tea drinker.
Blue Ridge Mountain Mint is a bold, rejuvenating blend brews blue and steeps a fun secret when spritzed with lemon juice to reveal the colors of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It's magical!! Okay, okay not actually - BUT it does have a pretty cool trick. Blue Butterfly Pea Flowers contain a super bright blue pigment called anthocyanin. In tea, anthocyanin acts as a base indicator, and will change color as the pH level changes. So spritz it with a little lemon juice and watch the show!

Fun Facts! We named this tea Blue Ridge Mountain Mint after that magical moment when the mountains turn from blue to purple during sunsets in our gorgeous area. Mountain Mint is native to our area and can be foraged in the summer. Peppermint, mountain mint, and spearmint are cooling herbs that are rich in nutrients and can help to increase alertness, while decreasing levels of frustration, anxiety and fatigue. The abundance of menthol also makes it a good option for indigestion. Many people believe menthol can also improve airflow and breathing.
Asheville Tea Company sources herbs and botanicals from over a dozen farms in the Southeast. Our goal is to cultivate partnerships with regional farms for the majority of our tea blend ingredients.

For our Blue Ridge Mountain Mint blend, many of our herbs and botanicals were sourced from Rayburn Farms (Barnardsville, NC),  SKYe2 Farm (Beech Mountain, NC); Our Friendly Allies (Marshall, NC), Maple Spring Gardens (Cedar Grove, NC) and Gentle Harmony Farm (Lexington, NC)
